«Perfect World», released in January 2006.
This game did not enter international sales and is oriented toward the Chinese audience.

We've made some exciting changes to our server, including the removal of the Duskblade and Stormbringer classes, allowing for a more balanced gameplay experience. Additionally, we've set our rates to a true and permanent 2x for experience, drops, spirit, and coin, with 1x for quests. This allows for a smoother and faster leveling experience without sacrificing the challenge and thrill of the game.
Yes, typically. Territory War — sieges with up to 80 players per side — takes place in a dedicated instanced location. Open-world PK status has no effect on it: participation is voluntary, and the aggressor flag does not activate automatically.
On properly configured PvE servers, the flag system is reworked so that AoE abilities do not deal damage to peaceful players outside of a duel or designated PvP zone, even if they are within the area of effect.
It depends on the server build. In endgame instances with tuned boss stats, Rank 9 gear or G17 weapons noticeably reduce clear times and lower group composition requirements. On most servers, R8 Recast is sufficient for all standard PvE content.
The most common methods include craft sinks — resources are consumed during refinement and upgrades through the Star Chart or Glyph system — time-limited events with unique rewards, and conversion of outdated farm materials into current ones. Some servers apply auction-house taxes on trades.

A PvE (Player vs Environment) server in Perfect World is a project where open-world free PvP is restricted or fully disabled. Administrators rework the flag system so that the red status (PK mode) does not activate accidentally, and characters remain in a peaceful state by default across most zones. This shifts priorities: instead of territorial control and competition over farming spots, the focus moves to dungeons — Twilight Temple, Nirvana, Lunar Glade, Flowsilver Palace, and Warsong City. Crafting Rank 8, R8 Recast, and Rank 9 gear; farming materials for G16/G17 weapons; progressing along the Sage or Demon cultivation paths — these become the core gameplay loop. This format does not eliminate competition but localises it: Territory War (sieges of up to 80 players per side) and Nation War (a separate mass-combat mode) are preserved but held in instanced locations, independent of the open-world PK status.
